ACTS What is it

Just in case you all are wondering what ACTS is here is the mission statement and a couple of videos that might help out.

American Confederation of Tactical Shooters

Purpose - To provide a sport in which Civilian rifle owners along with Military and Law Enforcement professionals can practice 'real world' shooting skills in a sporting venue that has not been offered by any other shooting discipline or association.
To promote the safe practical, proficient use of rifles. To foster sportsmanship and camaraderie among rifle owners, and to support and defend the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

STAGE 1 - Shooting on the Move

This stage had a pure emphasis regarding shooting on the move.

Shooter begins at table. At buzzer, shooter must engage all paper on the way to the first barrel, then while maintaining forward movement, strike the rifle steel 3 times on the way to the tire. At the tire, shooter drops rifle to retention, draws their sidearm and clears the poppers.

There is no cover and the shooter can not stop. They must move or receive a cover penalty.

Stage 2 - North Hollywood

Stage 2 was loosely based on the North Hollywood bank heist shootout. Shooter begins behind car and must hit FBI-Q steel target (about 45 yards away) 6 times with their side arm. Shooter then goes to table, and re-engages steel for another 6 hits with their pistol. Shooter will then open the box, reload their empty rifle magazine from loose ammunition in the box, and ready their rifle. With rifle, engage Q target twice. Move back to car and engage 50 yard "lollypop" steel targets 1 shot each.

Stage 3 - Vtac Firefight!

This stage was definitely a technical challenge. The shooter starts behind a short wall about 130 yards from two steel targets. Each steel must be hit one time each.

Shooter then moves to V-tac barricade about 110 yards from the targets.
Shooter must engage both targets 1 time each from each position, transitioning shoulders on each side of the barricade to maintain cover. IE: Fire from left shoulder on left side, right shoulder on right side.

These positions also included some very challenging low prone/roll over prone holes at the bottom requiring shots angled uphill!

Here's a first time ACTS shooter masterfully handing a 30-30 levergun on our V-tac Firefight stage.

These matches afford the opportunity to use all sorts of types of rifles and gear, and this is great evidence of that!

I have not been bloging like I should but here is an update. Since my last posting I have tried out for supervisor at work I didn’t make it, however I don’t feel bad since there were 15 new persons that tried out and only three went to interviews. I was one of the three. I will keep trying.

I didn’t make the last acts match booooooo my ride didn’t go I don’t know what happened but I hope to make it next month. I also have decided to work on getting my vehicle problem solved asap. I am tired of the bus and relying on others

well this week is done class is finished. I got my new EMT card yesterday and now am good for 2 more years.

I turned in my application for a supervisor placement yesterday I have a very good chance to get the job. I want the job it is time for me to move up. I will post it if and when I get the job

day 2 down one more to go it has been good seeing old friends

well day one down 2 more days left. we lost power today so we went home early. I decided to clean my para and found RUST RUST so I scrubbed and cleaned it again. now I need to find a new finish that sucks

I have not been good about bloging . However I am going to try to be better. I have been busy working a lot even on weekends. This week I am looking forward to EMT refresher class and meeting up with some old friends

Man what a pain I got the password reset so now I can post on my blogspot here again. Since my last login my computer died had to go back to get a new hard drive.

The last ACTS match was a blast we shot four stages. They all were challenging. I need to work on my speed. It killed me in one stage. On one stage I had my faithful Daewoo k2 jam up on me since I have owned this rifle I have not had that happen. I did use a magazine this time around that I have not used yet. I need to mark my mags and see it is just that mag. if it is it is going to go back to Magpull. I blamed it on ammo but I don’t think that was the cause.

well I have not been good at posting as last posting I shot the acts match it was based on the fbi shoot out I did ok 2 tages killed me I shot a hostage 3 times and I scored 12 misses on one stage. other than that I would have done much better. hopeing that next match I will do better still learning hold over I am getting there shots were more on target hopefully next match I will be right on.

well things have been a busy week but it seems to be improving. I have decided that I now can afford to get a para. for starts it is going to be a para p 13. I dont know yet what I am going to do to improve it. new sites to start those Gi sites suck. Ashley big dots are first. been a busy week lots of ot

first post for the new blog

Well things keep getting better I got my tax money and decided to get a laptop and internet at home so I can keep in touch. Next I got a great paycheck from work so it will be the para for me yeaaaaaaaa . It has been over a year since I have owned a handgun. I do plan on doing some mods to the para. first are a light rail and light. Next are better sights. Ambi safteys and a better bevertail will be in order too. What is my wish for this year I think it is just to do more shooting and just enjoy life.
